Glorious 25 years of Bandhu!
Bandhu Social Welfare Society (Bandhu), founded in 1996, has completed its 25th year on 31 July 2022. Throughout its march forward, Bandhu envisions a society where every person leads a quality life irrespective of gender and sexuality. In this course of voyage, Bandhu has phenomenal achievements on issues including gender diversity, gender-based violence, inclusion of gender-diverse community in national census by BBS, in voter list by the Election Commission, acknowledge of this community in government documents, and in national curriculum by NCTB, involvement in UPR process to address human rights along with their economic empowerment, accelerated social acceptance, and many more.
Such an amazing journey was made possible in large part by the warmhearted support we received from the Government of Bangladesh, national and international development partners, Bandhu Executive Committee, stakeholders, colleagues, and the pleasing community. We must concede with gratitude for your enduring assistance and encouragement.
গৌরবউজ্জ্বল ২৫ বছর পূর্ণ করলো বন্ধু!
১৯৯৬ সালের ৩১ জুলাই প্রতিষ্ঠানিক যাত্রা শুরু করে বন্ধু সোশ্যাল ওয়েলফেয়ার সোসাইটি (বন্ধু)। এই যাত্রায় বন্ধু এমন একটি সমাজের তৈরিতে কাজ করেছে যেখানে প্রতিটি মানুষ লিঙ্গ ও যৌনতা নির্বিশেষে একটি বৈষম্যহীন এবং মানসম্পন্ন জীবনযাপন করবে। এই যাত্রাপথে, বৈচিত্র্যময় জনগোষ্ঠীর লিঙ্গ পরিচয়, লিঙ্গ-ভিত্তিক সহিংসতা বন্ধে সামাজিক সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি, জাতীয় জনশুমারিতে লিঙ্গ বৈচিত্র্যময় জনগোষ্ঠীর অন্তর্ভুক্তি, ভোটার তালিকায় আলাদা লিঙ্গ পরিচয়সহ বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে বন্ধুর অসাধারণ সাফল্য উল্লেখ করার মতো। এছাড়াও, জাতীয় পাঠ্যক্রমে লিঙ্গ বৈচিত্র্যময় পাঠ অন্তর্ভূক্তি, অর্থনৈতিক ক্ষমতায়ন, সামাজিক গ্রহণযোগ্যতা ত্বরান্বিত করতে বন্ধুর কার্যক্রম অব্যাহত আছে। এই জনগোষ্ঠীর মানবাধিকার নিশ্চিত করতে ইউপিআর প্রক্রিয়ায় জড়িত আছে বন্ধু।
বাংলাদেশ সরকার, জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক উন্নয়ন অংশীদার, বন্ধু কার্যনির্বাহী কমিটি, স্টেকহোল্ডার, সহকর্মী এবং লিঙ্গ বৈচিত্র্যময় জনগোষ্ঠীর আন্তরিক সহযোগিতার কারণেই ২৫ বছরের এই বিষ্ময়কর সফল যাত্রা সম্ভব হয়েছে।
২৫ বছরের এই আনন্দঘন উদযাপনে সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলের সহায়তা এবং উত্সাহের জন্য কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করছে বন্ধু।
