Consultation Workshop with Service Providers on Stigma and Discrimination Free Health Access to PLHIV
Bandhu Social Welfare Society arranged Consultation workshop with government, treatment centers and HTC service providers on stigma and discrimination free health access to PLHIV on 7 October, 2018 at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh with the Support of ViiV Healthcare’s Positive Action project. In the meeting, Brigadier General Md. Abdullah-Al-Harun, Director Hospital and Project Director, Strengthening of HIV Services in BSMMU, Dhaka was the Chief Guest and Prof. Saleha Begum Chowdhury, Dept. of Obs. & Gynae and PMTCT Integration Coordinator, Strengthening of HIV Services in BSMMU and Dr. Md. Nazmul Karim, Additional Director, Hospital, BSMMU was the special guest. Md. Fosiul Ahsan, Director Program, Mohammad Rofiqul Islam Royal, Deputy Manager Training & Counseling and Ashis K. Acharjee, Project Coordinator of Bandhu Social Welfare Society were present in the meeting. 30 participants from Govt hospital, PLHIV network and community people were present in the meeting.
The Objective of the workshop was to create conducive environment for HIV infected and affected Gender diversified and Hijra population in health service settings in order to test and treat

He opined that our main objective is to prevent and control HIV and our Govt. is sincerely working on this. Those who are Positive patient we are giving their health service treatment. PLHIV are getting ART from here and no one will be discriminated to get the service. There is equal opportunity for all. Outdoor, indoor all facilities are existing in this hospital.
